Bang-less Blondie

Our Aleksa is a smartie, but oh, is she a blondie sometimes.

A blondie with no bangs.

The other day she was talking to a friend, and told her friend that when she was little, she cut her bangs (remember that!?), and that's why she doesn't have any. (!!??)

I didn't have the heart to correct her in front of her friend. But later, when we finally did try to set her straight, she said, "Then where'd they go?"

(Um. Leks? They grew out. It took months and years. 'Member?)

Sorry for the lack of posts lately... Having blog trouble, and can't figure out how to get this thing to let me make new posts! It says it doesn't know my username/password! I need to have John help me out some night asap... but we've been extremely busy/sick, so it hasn't been at the top of the list of things to accomplish. Laundry, yes, but blog updates, no. ;O)

John's dad had a heart attack a week and a half ago, so we made a quick run back home, plus the girls have been sick and now I am. He's ok, but will be out of work for a while, and this has been an expensive year for them. They were in a car accident this spring that took John's mom out of work for months. Then they took a once-in-a-lifetime cruise to Alaska at the end of the summer. Now his dad had a heart attack. Ouch.

This last Saturday I took the girls to a yearly baking day on my mother's side of the family. I haven't been able to go for a few years (since the kids came home, actually), so it was fun. We made lefse this year along with lots of cookies. Fun!

We also got news this week that John's grandmother is probably not going to be long with us. We've been really bummed about that... she is a sweetheart. She helped me make hundreds of Angel Pins back when I was selling them to get the kids. She also bought many, many of them to give to the other women at her apartment building. Sweet, sweet lady. It is especially rough on John's parents as they can't travel right now with his dad just having had this heart attack. Very difficult to not be able to drop everything and go see her.

In the last two weeks I've heard from three blog friends who have sent announcements of their travel dates to Ukraine, or about their pregnancies... CONGRATULATIONS everyone! That is just soooo exciting! Lisa, I'm counting the days for your trip. Really! I'm hoping you send constant emails from Ukraine - I'll be DYING for updates!

Anyway, I'm hoping John can help me get this blog problem figured out by the 17th when I'm due for a monthly update... I'm here!

Oh dear, I'm glad I clicked on the comments and found your update. I hope the blog woes are fixed soon, but more important, I'm sending good wishes for all your family members. I hope things improve for you soon!

Shelly!

I'm so sorry to hear about John's Dad- I'm glad Mom Fisher is feeling better, and I hope that he is too. I'm also so sad to hear about John's Grandma. We are so lucky to have Grandparents- but even more so if we get to "keep" them well into our own adulthood.

Hope you're ALL on the mend soon. I'm glad I checked in on the comments sections too.

We leave for Ukraine Sunday, Dec. 3rd. STILL can't believe it- but am actually quite calm. Will update as much as possible!
