White Whites?

Ok, I'm doing laundry. And Adam's socks are GRAY. How do those of you with busy, busy boys keep your whites WHITE? I think I'm missing something. Do I just have to buy new socks every other week or what's the deal? I'm dead serious, I'm just plain clueless on this one! Please HELP!!!!!!!

Well you could buy gray socks instead of white if those are the worst problems. If you don't want to do that and if you wash your whites completely separate then you could use a little bleach. If you have some colored items in the washer with the socks you could buy some spray and wash and squirt some on the socks before washing.

I'm going with "buy gray socks" too. Or blue, or green, or brown. Not very helpful!? :) Sunshine is supposed to bleach whites, if you have a spot to hang things outside.

Since Matt has a bad habit of walking around outside in his socks- and he only likes white ones, I can feel for you Shelly.

I agree with what Marnie said- hanging them outside does help- lots of bleach and hot water are the other thing I rely on- as well as washing them in the extra long "extra dirty stuff" cycle.

This just in! From Canadian Living magazine, May 2006:

"Get white socks white again by boiling them in water with a slice of lemon."

Seems silly, though. I'm sticking with the idea of not having white socks to begin with!

White- Wasnt sure that was a color with three kids!!! For that matter it is a known fact that if I wear white to work or anywhere involving food - I will always get food on it. It is a murphys law.

Bleach em hard! But they are boys and will grow right out of them of put holes in them within a week anyhow- lol
